Shelagh’s Smile Transformation Story: A Journey to Confidence

Published Date: 27 September 2024
Category: Smile Design

Today we’re excited to share with you the inspiring story of one of our very special patients at the House of Smile Design, Echuca. Her name is Shelagh, and we were honoured to work with her over the past few months on her smile transformation.

For years, Shelagh felt self-conscious about her smile.

“I used to laugh or smile with my hand over my mouth. I didn’t want people to see the horrible mess of blackness and awful colours,”

– she recalls.

What pushed Shelagh to make the call to our clinic was the simple desire to feel better about herself:

“I’ve hated my teeth for so long, it’d be so nice to just get out there and just smile and feel good about it.”

When Shelagh came to us, we collaborated to explore the best options for her. As Shelagh said: “Even when we were discussing whether we’d go for the whole hog, or just fix what was there. All of the options were laid out, and plenty of examples.”

At the House of Smile Design, there is no one way to embark on a smile transformation. We will present you with options, with full transparency over budget and outcome.

Words from Dr Kritika Mehra

As our founder and Principal Dentist, Dr Kritika Mehra, says:

“It’s a dialogue, we sit down in a discussion. I bring my knowledge to the table and the patient brings their needs and wants to the table. They say – this is what I want, this is what I can afford. And then we bring it all together for them.

Thanks to the leading Digital Smile Design technology we use at the House of Smile Design, the process was much easier than in the past. Shelagh loved being able to see what her new smile would look like, before even starting any treatment. “The technology now is amazing … they just point the computer at you and it takes a nice little model. And it can show you what it’s going to look like at the end. It’s fabulous. ” she said.

We were so pleased to hear that throughout her journey, Shelagh felt supported and informed. “At every stage I knew what was coming. I knew what it was going to cost me. I just felt comfortable going through it.” This transparency helped her feel at ease.

Now, Shelagh is proud to smile.

“I’m just happy to smile. It makes me happier, it makes me feel better about myself ” – she shares.

Shelagh’s story is not just about improving her teeth; it’s about gaining confidence. A brighter smile can change how you feel and interact with the world. If you’re considering a smile makeover, remember: it’s never too late to take that step. Your smile is worth it!
